ജ്യാമിതി രസകരമായ ഒരു ഗണിതശാസ്ത്ര ശാഖയാണ്. കൃഷിസ്ഥലം, ഭൂമി എന്നെല്ലാം അര്‍ത്ഥം വരുന്ന 'ജ്യാ', അളവ് എന്നര്‍ത്ഥം വരുന്ന 'മിതി' എന്നീ പദങ്ങള്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നാണ് ജ്യാമിതി എന്ന പദം ഉണ്ടായത്. കൃഷിസ്ഥലം അളന്നു തിരിക്കാന്‍ വേണ്ടിയാണ് ചരിത്രാതീതകാലം മുതലേ പ്രധാനമായും ജ്യാമിതി ഉപയോഗിച്ചു പോന്നത്. ക്രിസ്തുവിനും 600 വര്‍ഷം മുന്‍പ് ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന ഥേല്‍സാണ് ഈ ശാഖ ഇത്രയേറെ വികസിക്കുന്നതിന് കാരണക്കാരനായത്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ ശിഷ്യനായ പൈതഗോറസും ഈ മേഖലയ്ക്ക് ഒട്ടേറെ സംഭാവനകള്‍ നല്‍കി. ബി.സി മുന്നൂറിനോടടുത്ത് ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന യൂക്ലിഡും ജ്യാമിതിയില്‍ ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ നിരവധി കണ്ടെത്തലുകള്‍ നടത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പ്രായോഗികജ്യാമിതി, സ്വയം‌സിദ്ധപ്രമാണീകരണ ജ്യാമിതി, വിശ്ലേഷണജ്യാമിതി, പ്രക്ഷേപണജ്യാമിതി എന്നിവയാണ് ജ്യാമിതിയുടെ വിവിധ ഉപശാഖകള്‍. ഗണിതസ്നേഹികള്‍ക്ക് ആസ്വദിക്കാനായി ബ്ലോഗ് ടീമംഗമായ ജോണ്‍ മാഷ് ഇതാ ഒരു ഗണിതപ്രശ്നവുമായി എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഉത്തരം കണ്ടെത്തുക.
ചിത്രത്തില്‍ AB യ്ക്കിടയിലെ ഒരു ബിന്ദുവാണ് C. AC, CB, AB എന്നിവ വശങ്ങളായി മൂന്ന് സമഭുജത്രികോണങ്ങള്‍ വരച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ത്രികോണം ADC, ത്രികോണം CEB, ത്രികോണം ABF ഇവ സമഭുജത്രികോണങ്ങളാണ്. ഇവയുടെ മധ്യബിന്ദുക്കള്‍ (Centroids) യോജിപ്പിച്ചാല്‍ ത്രികോണം PQR കിട്ടും. C യുടെ സ്ഥാനം എവിടെ ആയാലും PQR ഏത് തരത്തിലുള്ള ത്രികോണമായിരിക്കും. എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് PQR അത്തരമൊരു ത്രികോണമാണെന്ന് പറയാന്‍ കാരണം ? തെളിവുകളുടെ സഹായത്തോടെ സമര്‍ത്ഥിക്കാമോ?

അപ്പോൾ ഒരു സംശയം: ഈ ജ്യാമിതി(Geometry? ) ഇൻഡ്യയിലാണോ ഉദ്ഭവിച്ചത്? അറിയാൻ വയ്യാഞ്ഞിട്ടു ചോദിക്കയാണ്.
When we find a suitable word for Tranalating 'Geometry' we select "Gea" and 'Mithi' from sanskrit
The first part of the word is taken from Greek word "Ge" means Earth and the second is taken from the Greek word "metron" means measure

The word" Gaiamathi " is formed by joining two Sanskit words mentioned above.The Subject is not originated in India.This is a simple specification of the word to reveal that it not a pure malayalm word.In our old texts we use "shaktra Ganitham" for geometry.This is before establishing "Kerala Basha Institute"Today we use "gamithty"which is nearer to the meaning of original word.I think you have noticed some Greek mames in the article

ഈജിപ്റ്റിലും ഗ്രീസിലും ക്ഷേത്രഗണിതം എന്ന പേരില്‍ ജ്യാമിതി (ജ്യാമിതി) വളരുമ്പോള്‍ത്തന്നെ ഇന്റ്യയിലും അത് വളരുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നുയെന്നത് വാസ്തവം.പൂജ്യത്തിന്റെ ഉപജ്ഞാതാക്കളായ ഭാരതീയര്‍ ഗണിതത്തില്‍ എന്നും പൂജ്യര്‍ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു. പക്ഷെ ചരിത്രാതീതകാലത്ത് നിന്നും എടുത്തുപറയാന്‍ ഥേല്‍സോ, യൂക്ലിഡോ പോലെ നമുക്കൊരാളില്ല എന്നത് കൊണ്ട് അതിന് അത്ര പ്രചാരവും കിട്ടിയില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ 'ശുല്ബസൂത്ര' പോലെയുള്ള ചില പൌരാണിക ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങള്‍ നമുക്ക് എടുത്തു കാണിക്കാനുമുണ്ട്.
ക്ഷേത്രഗണിതത്തില്‍ ക്ഷേത്രം എന്ന പദത്തിന് വയല്‍ എന്നാണ് അര്‍ത്ഥം. ഗ്രീക്ക് ഭാഷയില്‍ ജിയോമെട്രിയ എന്ന പേരിലാണ് ജ്യാമിതി അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത്. (geo = earth, metria = measure )
പ്രാചീനകാലത്ത് ഏകഭാഷയായിരുന്നു എന്ന വാദത്തിന് പ്രബലമായ ഉദാഹരണമായി ഇത് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണിക്കാമായിരിക്കും. സംസ്കൃതത്തിലെ 'മാതാ'യും ഇംഗ്ലീഷിലെ 'mother' ഉം പോലെ geometria യും ജ്യാമിതിയും തമ്മില്‍ എവിടെയോ ഒരു ബന്ധം.
വാചകഭംഗിയില്ലാത്തതിന്റെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം പൂര്‍ണമായി ഞാനേറ്റെടുക്കുന്നു. പക്ഷെ ഈ ചോദ്യത്തിനുള്ള A+ ജോണ്‍മാഷിന് തന്നെ കൊടുക്കണം. നോക്കൂ, ഒരു ചെറിയ പ്രശ്നമായിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഇതിനോടകം ഒരു അഞ്ച് രീതിയില്‍ ഉത്തരം വന്നേനെ.

That triangle always will be equilateral .That can be proved using coordinate geometry.Let AC be 'm'& CB be 'n'and A be the origin.Then coordinates of P ,Q,and R becomes (m/2,m/2root3);[(2m+n)/2,n/2root3];and [(m+n)/2,-(m+n)/2root3] respectively.
