kindly go through comment 34 of this post....@Muneer
kindly go through comment 34 of this post. your explanation is fine.
if we calculate the joining angle , it also proves you are right.( if it is a triangle 5/2=8/3=13/5),(the total of the angle is not equal to 90) .thank you muneer.vijayanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02345885159669791726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2787161678592839240.post-86561777184473557452009-12-29T15:16:21.454+05:302009-12-29T15:16:21.454+05:30I think nobody has correct answer for the original...I think nobody has correct answer for the original question so far. Let me do a simple effort to explain the reason for the extra 1 unit area in the second figure.
The hypotenuse of the triangle formed by green trapezium and red triangle is not actually a straight line. It has a slight twist inwards. it can be verified in the following way.
In the trapezium, hypotenuse's horizontal length is increased by 5 units while vertical length is increase by 2 units. i.e. for 1 unit of vertical increase, there should be 5/2 units of horizontal increase. In this logic, for 5 units of vertical increase, there should be 5*5/2 = 25/2 units of horizontal increase. But in the diagram, for 5 units of vertical increase, there is 13 units of horizontal increase. This is because in the red triangle, for every units of vertical increase there is 8/3 units of horizontal increase.
The same arrangement gap is applicable for the other half of the bigger rectangle.

In short:
The diagonal of the rectangle is formed by the sloppy line of green trapezium and hypotenuse of red triangle. Sloppy line of green trapezium grows horizontally by 5/2 units for 1 unit of vertical growth. where as hypotenuse of red triangle grows horizontally by 8/3 units for 1 unit of horizontal growth. When we combine these 2 lines, it becomes a distorted at their joining point. This creates a hole in the figure.Muneerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12407187793935604761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2787161678592839240.post-48888740565745722872009-12-27T12:49:23.289+05:302009-12-27T12:49:23.289+05:30Dear Umesh Sir,

LCM of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 is 3 x 4 x 5 = 60. ...301.

LCM of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 is 3 x 4 x 5 = 60. We need to solve 60a + 1 = 7b, or 7b - 60a = 1.

The continued fraction expansion of (7/60) is [0; 8, 1, 1, 3] = [0; 8, 1, 1, 2, 1], with convergents 0/1, 1/8, 1/9, 2/17, 5/43, 7/60. So, a = 5, b= 43 is a solution.

So, the general solution is a = 5 + 7k, b = 43 + 60k.

So, the smallest number is 60 x 5 + 1 = 7 x 43 = 301.Umesh::ഉമേഷ്https://www.blogger.com/profile/06474085260183409502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2787161678592839240.post-81095734483925232602009-12-27T12:14:21.056+05:302009-12-27T12:14:21.056+05:30Find the least number which is divisible by 7 and ...Find the least number which is divisible by 7 and gives the remainder 1 when it is devided by 2,3,4,5 & 6?AZEEZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07062507383328017955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2787161678592839240.post-11947079196053848562009-12-27T12:03:16.080+05:302009-12-27T12:03:16.080+05:3012 is divisible by 2
